Naples

Just north of the Everglades National Park, Naples is a friendly town with a flair of sophistication. This upscale community can easily be compared to Palm Beach or Beverly Hills. Naples is known for its exceptional shopping, championship golfing, beautiful waterfronts and luxurious home estates.

Olde Naples, the historic downtown district, is lined with palm trees, chic shops and boutiques, art galleries and restaurants. A tin-roofed emporium called Tin City sits alongside the Naples Bay where more than 40 shops are just waiting to be explored.

A local favorite and classic landmark, The Naples Pier is over 1000 feet (300m) long and is the town's most popular beach area and fishing spot. Open around the clock, the pier features a bait shop, tables for cleaning fish, food concessions, restrooms and a panoramic view of the Florida sunset. Another popular place for a family outing is Lowdermilk Park which has a pavilion, picnic tables, a beach volleyball court, a duck pond and a refreshment counter.

Naples also has a number of extraordinary golf courses. Two well-known courses are the Lely Flamingo Island Club (designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.) and the Lely Mustang Golf Club (designed by Lee Trevino). Art enthusiasts won't want to miss the Naples Museum of Art, a 30,000 square-foot museum attached to the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts.

Discover the natural beauty of the Naples area. Try an Everglades Excursion and Everglades Jungle Cruise, going into the depths of Florida's most precious gem, the Everglades. Visit the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, a nationally accredited zoo that blends animals with a historic garden to create a truly exciting experience. Take one of the several nature tours offered and explore incredible ecosystems, on land and on water.
